Fun Food Focus
Instead of mashed potatoes, try mashed root veggies: rutabaga, parsnips, carrots, turnips, celeriac, kohlrabi, beets... Make them a single root veggie mash with butter and milk, just like you would potatoes. Wash but leave the skins on. Or, try mixing and matching based upon roots you like and you think would be tasty together.
Be a brave, kitchen artisan. If it is yummy, make it again. If not so yummy, well, chalk it up to experience. Know that you gave it a try and you ingested nutritious, seasonal, whole foods.
